My approach to family photography is prompted, but never stiffly posed. I keep a keen eye on the little details like stray hairs, clothing that needs a quick adjustment, and flattering angles but my main focus is always relationship. When I first meet a new family, I spend a few minutes building rapport, helping the kiddos feel comfortable, and setting a few clear goals for our session. I like to begin with what I call the “icebreaker” portraits: everyone smiling happily at the camera. These are the kind of portraits that end up framed on your wall after all. From there, we naturally move into a comfortable flow of prompts and candid moments designed to bring out genuine smiles, laughter, and connection. My goal is to give you the beautiful, timeless portraits you came for while also capturing the little interactions and relationships that make your family uniquely yours.

Short, sweet, and offered just a handful of times throughout the year, seasonal mini sessions are designed around specific dates, locations, and time slots. These sessions are perfect for holiday cards, seasonal updates, and thoughtfully styled holiday or themed portraits.
Off-Season Minis
Off-season minis are 30-minute sessions designed for families who want updated portraits without the length or styling of a full session. These sessions are un-styled and on-location, allowing us to keep things relaxed and natural while still creating a beautiful set of images. Off-season minis are available by request rather than on a set schedule. Contact me to find a date and time that works for you.

I graduated from EMU with a bachelors degree in Photography. Since 2009, I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings and thousands of photo sessions. I have had the great joy of being published with The Knot, Capitol Romance, Borrowed and Blue, and a few local photography blogs. My photography career has taken me to California, DC, New York City, North and South Carolina, and Florida AND I hope to travel so much more! Along with some of Virginia’s most luxurious wineries, I have had the privilege of shooting weddings at premier wedding venues across the state. I can’t wait to see what’s yet to come!
